Run James Run!
Head down to Eaton Park or Catton Park on a Saturday morning to take part in Parkrun and you might very well bump into a few faces from LSI Architects.
One such face is that of Parkrun centurion James Lake and this year, after a few unsuccessful applications, James will be running the 2017 London Marathon on the 23rd April.
James will be pounding the streets in order to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has set up a website called Fund:Mustard to help him collect donations, as well as to share updates on his training and some tips for others who would like to get running. James has set a fundraising target of £4000, which is the average cost of a single wish for a child via the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and any donations on James’ Just Giving Page would be greatly appreciated.
On supporting the charity, James said “I love the idea that I can help provide a seriously ill kid with an experience they’ll never forget. Since having kids, the notion seems that much stronger from a parent-focused perspective. I seem more able to relate to the dark situation a family can find themselves in and the beam of hope a wish can provide. It fills me with warmth knowing I am in a position to help make that happen.”
Alongside his training regime, which includes half marathons through London before a day in our Clerkenwell office, James has also set up a lunchtime running club at LSI Architects. Having battled through illness and injury, James’s training is progressing well in the lead up to the big day in a months time.
Good luck James!
