LSI AT BIM SHOW LIVE 2015
LSI’s BIM Manager Karl Thurston will be talking at BIM Show Live 2015. BIM Show Live, taking place in Manchester between the 8th and 9th of April, is the largest and most established BIM conference in the UK.
Karl’s talk, alongside Kier’s Andy Boutle, is titled Capturing Asset Information and Blowing Up Toasters. The talk will include a demonstration of how BIM technologies and processes improved the delivery of Crome Court, a £12m student residence building at the University of East Anglia, and how Asset information was captured for facilities management purposes.

Karl is a BRE BIM Accredited Professional and is on the committee of the development of the AEC (UK) BIM Protocols for GRAPHISOFT ArchiCAD. An advocate of Open BIM Karl undertakes presentations to the wider BIM community and influences the development of software and tools to enhance the process for the benefit of all stakeholders.
In building relationships, and his innovative use of technology Karl has bought design and construction teams closer together, facilitating more effective collaboration and communication seeking to deliver improved building assets.
He has worked on a number of fully collaborative projects, including Crome Court, a new £12M Student Residence at UEA where stakeholders including Client, Facilities Management Team, Design Team, Main Contractor, Sub Contractors and Suppliers provided intelligent asset information for Facilities Management purposes (6D Asset Information Model).
