LSI up for Digital Award at BITC Awards

We are delighted to announce that LSI Architects has been shortlisted for the Fujitsu Award for Responsible Business in the Digital Age at the 2017 Business in the Community Awards.

The Practice has been shortlisted for the award for its use of environmental analysis tools to make more informed design decisions for the long term benefit of projects. Partner Trevor Price commented;

Climate change is happening and LSI Architects is conscious of the role of the construction industry in the drive for lower-carbon living. We seek to promote responsible stewardship of the environment at all times, and this is a philosophy that is embedded within the designs that we produce.”

“Environmental analysis software is now enabling us to review and assess the impact on energy performance of a building during the early design stages. Variables, such as building orientation, amount of glazing, renewable energies, performance of the external envelope etc, can all be manipulated to establish the most effective building solution. Integrating low-cost, high impact measures at the outset of the proposals avoids costly ‘bolt-ons’ at a later stage.”

“Through projects, such as Crome Court student residences at the University of East Anglia, we have proved that through effective use of technology and a sound understanding of sustainable design principles we are able to deliver inspiring buildings on time, on budget that achieve high environmental standards and offer exceptional anticipated life cycle costs.

Below is a video of our client at the University East Anglia discussing how the approach was implemented successfully on our Crome Court project at the University.
