Our People

We take pride in having a business that clients and colleagues respect because we do the right thing.  Having highly skilled and motivated staff that share our values and ethos is fundamental to gaining this respect and we recognise that it is our staff who are able to deliver the quality design and committed service that we believe our clients should expect.

Helen Needs

Architectural Assistant

Before joining LSI, Helen studied for her Part I at the University of Bath, with her final individual project exploring the connection between mind and body and the search to create a building where both elements could be treated equally. Helen’s final year group project was for a new railway station/library for Oxford, which was awarded the Basil Spence Prize for multi-disciplinary design.

During two placements while at university, Helen worked on Education, Commercial and Student Residential projects in the UK and UAE.

For the past three years, Helen has been the UK National Contact for “MEDS” – Meeting of Design Students – an organisation run by students to host a summer workshop in a different European country every year to give students the chance to participate in design and build projects, develop hands-on skills and become part of a network of like-minded designers.
