James joined LSI in 2004 as a Part 1 student, and has dovetailed his continuing education with periods in practice. He obtained his Part 2 qualification from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2010, whilst continuing to contribute to projects at LSI throughout, and became a fully qualified Architect in November 2014. James portfolio of construction projects relates mostly to the education sector, ranging from acting as job runner on the £1M Leiston Childrens’ Centre, to work on a new Construction Skills Centre at Easton College, and the 514 bed £27.5M Blackdale student residence scheme at the UEA. Alongside the construction work, James has a portfolio of masterplanning experience, ranging from private housing, through leisure, commercial and business park schemes in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
In this time he has become fluent in ArchiCAD, and was been involved in a number of CAD skills and development initiatives within the practice, prior to taking on a full time position as BIM manager in January 2017. As CAD manager James is responsible for developing CAD skills within the practice, and for improving standards and refining processes, to ensure that LSI’s CAD capabilities are ahead of the industry standard across the practice as a whole.
