Islington Council's brief to LSI Architects was to develop a coherent / consistent space to comprise reception services, interview counters, self-serve Internet kiosks, and informal and formal meeting rooms in a more modern 'tone and style' to that previously experienced.
The council's decision to integrate Children's Services within the Contact Islington Service Centre presented significant constraints upon the arrangement of waiting areas, meeting rooms and establishing staffing security zones, while attempting to provide an interior that was 'open' and engaging, child friendly yet sophisticated.
