Rackheath Eco Town
Rackheath is now approved in the Eco-town PPS as 1 of only 4 locations for the first of the UK Government's proposed Eco-towns. It is the only new Eco Town that that has been A-rated for Sustainability and will consist of 4,150 homes, 28 hectares of employment uses, local centres, new schools, linear parks, new railway station and related infrastructure.
The project will be a low carbon development promoting:
• self-sustaining renewable energy production
• efficient waste management and reduction
• minimum transport emissions
• highly efficient water usage
