LSI worked with Bouygues, and school staff, to revisit ambitious £18M BSF plans to overhaul the only secondary school on the Isle of Dogs – a pioneering 1970s LCC split-level concrete-framed, concrete-block design with many community facilities but failing environmental performance– and prepared a 4-phase package of repairs and enhancements for £8.5M.

The works included the structurally challenging insertion of 4No classroom and a specialist drama classroom into a previous double height hall; a remodelled suite of tuition rooms for SEN use, the upgrade and extension of the community and teaching Cafe Vert which improved the café’s public frontage together with a general uplift in finishes to the entire 1970s building.
