NILE Education Conversion

Norwich Institute for Language Education provides education programmes using ‘classrooms’ and teaching spaces in a number of buildings within and close to the city centre.
NILE Education Conversion

By purchasing the former Barclays bank building and converting it to teaching accommodation, the NILE Business Plan is to consolidate the majority of their teaching spaces to a single location at Upper St Giles.

The refurbishment utilises the relatively high thermal mass by exposing the concrete floor slab soffit and allowing natural ventilation. Suspended light fittings and acoustically absorbent panels are arranged within teaching and conference spaces to provide the optimum acoustic performance and uniform distribution of light.

The refurbishment will provide a less disjointed service for staff and students by bringing people together into this city centre location.
