LSI’s competition-winning extension for Year 13 provides 115 ensuite boarding rooms and communal spaces, to create a VI Form Centre.

All bedrooms look outwards, while a ground floor ambulatory frames an inner courtyard – a space for the whole College. South Norfolk Council awarded the scheme for exemplary integration of architecture and landscape.

The school is in an attractive rural location and the design concept allows every new room to enjoy views outward. The building wraps around a new central courtyard, which is a vibrant external activities space. The commission was secured following a limited competition between a shortlist of Marks Barfield, RMJM and LSI Architects.
