Key aspects of our designs include accessibility, attention to circulation spaces and the creation of high quality internal environments which facilitate flexibility of use and good relationships to external secure play spaces. The involvement of a wide range of stakeholders has been successfully managed via an active programme of community consultation. Environmental strategies, assessed under BREEAM, have incorporated the use of natural features, solar shading, sun-pipes and wind-catchers, along with the orientation of buildings in relation to the sun path and direction of the prevailing wind to maximise environmental comfort.
