The Big Draw at the Castle!

LSI team up with students from Norwich University of the Arts to sketch a slice of the 360 degree view from the top of Castle Mound at Norwich Castle and create a sketched panorama of the Norwich skyline.

As part of the 2017 Festival of Architecture in Norwich and Norfolk (FANN17) and The Big Draw Festival 2017, we teamed up with students at Norwich University of the Arts to invite people to sketch a slice of the 360 degree view from the top of Castle Mound at Norwich Castle to create a sketched panorama of the Norwich skyline.

The completed panorama was then displayed in a specially designed suspended exhibition in the Castle Keep.

Event organiser, and Graphics and Visualisation Manager at LSI Architects, Derek Jackson said “We wanted to help people get inspired by drawing the spaces around them. Sketching is an activity which anyone can do, regardless of ability. It gives expression to ideas, and can convey far more than words can. It’s also a very relaxing thing to do, giving you the time to really look at things. It’s been great seeing people take in the city around them, finding an enthusiasm for drawing and engage in a creative activity with a fantastic combined result at the end.”
