The LSI Architects Drawing Award 2016

We were delighted to present the LSI Architects Drawing Award at this years Norwich University of the Arts BA in Architecture end of year show to James Potter.

The LSI Architects Drawing Prize, now in it’s second year, recognises the Norwich University of the Arts BA in Architecture student who produces the most outstanding drawing for presentation at the summer exhibition, based on how well the drawing communicates without the need for reference to other images or texts and evokes what it is intended to portray.

We were delighted to present the LSI Architects Drawing Award at this year’s Norwich University of the Arts BA in Architecture end of year show to James Potter.

James’ design proposal ‘Institute of Innovations’ attempts to rediscover the innovative culture which once thrived in Belfast, providing a catalogue of inventions which playfully explores and projects spaces of community exchange.

Partner Rupert Kitchen commented that “James’ work on display, from concept sketches and collage through to well-developed technical drawings, describes his scheme with a clarity that is immediate and engaging. What is compelling about James’ work is not so much what he has drawn, but what he hasn’t drawn, leaving out non-essential information that would clutter the view and obscure the ideas that he is seeking to convey. All stages of his work are displayed with a confidence and consistency of style that hint at a maturity of thought and process, that stand as a testament to the quality of tuition he has received at NUA and not least to his talent as an Architectural student.”
