Plans Approved for Hutchison Ports Employee Facility Scheme

Planning permission has recently been granted for a new Employee Facility for the Port of Felixstowe, the biggest and busiest container port in the UK and one of the largest in Europe.

The adaptable new building will, for the first time, bring together all of the ports’ employees into one facility to help deliver a positive cultural change and improve productivity.

The buildings massing is a simple form wrapping around a central core, allowing for flexible open plan floors incorporating office spaces and mess facilities.

With the port in operation 24/7, the building will be illuminated throughout the night, glowing like a harbour lantern to provide a welcoming focal point for employees across the terminal.
