LSI Architects Visualisation of Motorpoint Stand at Peterborough United Football Club's ABAX Stadium

Peterborough City Council outlined an aspiration to redevelop the ageing Moys Terrace at Peterborough United’s Weston Homes Stadium and replace it with the new 2,500 seat capacity Motorpoint stand and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Centre. Internally the attention to total accessibility integration includes disabled facilities and unobstructed level access to all areas, with an elevated disabled viewing platform on first floor concourse level. The Design embraces energy efficient measures and passive strategies to minimise the need for supplementary heating, cooling and lighting. The main roof houses a large PV array providing supplementary electricity and integrates a rainwater harvesting system, used to flush toilets and irrigate the pitch. Inclusive access was a core consideration. The careful design ensures people can move without difficulty between the highway, external public zones and through the building.
