The 30 year old health centre has been extended and refurbished with clinical rooms brought up to modern spatial and infection control standards.  A new community pharmacy and offices for health staff have also been completed as well as significant infrastructure works including new generator, incoming mains supply, and solar array.

Working with NHS Property Services and site stake holders a space utilisation study was carried out determining the space available, its quality and how effectively it was being used. Recommendations for improved efficiency in room allocation were made, whilst shortfalls in accommodation, particularly clinical space of the right kind were identified. The process has been highly incremental, with multiple phasing and decanting whilst carrying out extensive works within live hospital and health centre environments.  Preserving the patient pathway and controlling disturbance to the clinical experience have been paramount considerations in the planning and execution stages of each development phase.
