LSI Architects’ experience of providing architectural services on data centre construction projects includes new-builds, conversion of existing buildings, and modifications to existing sites.

Most recently, LSI has completed a £65M Tier 3 Mega Data Centre with 2,250m² technical space, and expansion capability for a further 2,250m², to complement and integrate with the client’s existing network of data centre storage provision for both current and future needs. Principally a single storey building, the building comprises of large halls to accommodate IT and plant facilities, with two-storey ancillary spaces to the southern end of the building that comprise the main entrance and vehicle deliveries, together with workshops, ancillary office space and WC /shower facilities.

The building is designed as a large ‘typical industrial building’: an intentionally indifferent building to draw neither good nor bad press. In 2008 the project was shortlisted for ‘Mega Data Centre of the Year’.
