St Stephens Towers

A feasibility study exploring the redevelopment of St Stephens Towers in Norwich into new student accommodation to to improve the appearance, vitality and viability of an important gateway into the City Centre
St Stephens Towers

The design provides for a mix of student bed types with ancillary facilities, such as a gym, café/launderette as well as communal storage spaces. The proposed accommodation is comprised of a mix of a cluster of ‘flats’ comprising of a number of ensuite bedrooms and a shared social space, studios and “twodios” for two people sharing a shower room and kitchenette.

A new entrance block is proposed between the towers to accommodate a main reception and communal facilities, such as a café/launderette. This space is connected to a landscaped public square via a new external link connecting the entrances to both towers, which have been relocated. A new lift provides a second stair and lift core to each of the towers to increase accessibility and flexibility for the proposed accommodation.
