The majority of LSI Architects experience in the education sector comes in the completion of numerous award winning Primary and Secondary School projects. We develop schemes effectively through client engagement meetings to meet with the objectives of local authorities and education bodies, while managing the effective production of deliverables and close monitoring of a scheme development.
Our teams are familiar with developing building projects from an early concept stage and interrogating the brief, asking the right questions of the client team, to inform the final proposals and balance the requirements of the Education Brief and statutory design guidance with the site and budgetary constraints.
Projects are developed through technical design coordination stages or through to completion, while managing the effective production of deliverables and close monitoring of the detailed Employer’s Requirements and Output Specification.

The majority of our Primary or Secondary school projects has been delivered through a Design and Build procurement route for many of the UK’s largest contractors via the Department for Education Schools Construction Framework.
We believe good school design has a positive impact on educational outcomes and can contribute to a significant uplift in academic progression in primary and secondary schools.
On much of our education work we will follow a
prescribed consultation process that allows the brief to be proven against a schedule of accommodation, develop options for adjacencies, and designing in further detail through to a final architectural proposal, often within a time constrained period.
We use a range of techniques to explore and present our ideas throughout the design process to help us receive better feedback and the end product is a building or space that better meets the needs of both students and staff.
