UEA Masterplan
Work began on the East Development Masterplan in 2000. By 2008, 1300 new study bedrooms, a health centre/nursery, a piazza, and a 420-bed international school were nearly complete.
The 135degree ‘Lasdun’ grid, and the informality in shape and flow of external space are reflected in LSI’s plan – now being extended northwards.
Post 2014, LSI is transforming the 2D figure-ground drawing into a 3D masterplan with asset register information tagged to component buildings, to provide an interactive databank for enhanced facilities management.
During the period of LSI’s involvement, attitudes towards disability, consultation, public participation and environmental impact assessment have all evolve and the University has grown in popularity
