All at LSI Architects were saddened to learn of the passing of Christopher Lambert, one of the Practice’s founding Partners.

In 1963, Christopher from a Fletcher Watson/Cecil Upcher base created Christopher Lambert & Partners and was joined a year later by Michael Innes.  The firm was re-named Lambert & Innes, in 1967, and a year or two later incorporated Edward Boardman and Son.  It continued as Lambert & Innes until its amalgamation with A.F. Scott & Sons in 1971.  It then was styled Lambert Scott & Innes to demonstrate that it was no take-over.  With increasing use and familiarity, the name seemed often abbreviated to the easier acronym – “LSI” and, after Chris’ retirement in 1993, it was often styled LSI Architects.  After the retirement of Michael Innes in 2002, this was formalised as the present name: LSI Architects.

Christopher’s projects included:

the Pavillion at the Royal Norfolk Showground; the RBS building on Queen Street, Norwich; the new St Lukes Church on Aylsham Road, Norwich; the Playhouse Theatre and also in Norwich, the St James Yarn Mill restorations/refurbishments for Jarrolds, riverside housing at Wroxham – to name but a few.

All of the team at LSI would like to pass on condolences to Christopher’s family and friends.
