James Paget University Hospital Ophthalmic Theatre
A new £1.2M Ophthalmic Theatre at the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.
A new Ophthalmic Theatre at the James Paget University Hospital (JPUH) in Gorleston, which will result in an extra 1,200 cataract operations being performed each year. The operations being performed will help to reduce the NHS back log for surgical eye treatment, generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The £1.2M theatre, which has been constructed in an unused treatment room and office space, houses the latest ophthalmology equipment, including a Zeiss Artevo 800 digital heads-up 3D 4K ophthalmic operating microscope. This is the first of its kind to be installed in an East Anglian NHS acute hospital.
LSI worked in collaboration with the NHS Trust, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure and WSP to successfully meet the demands of both brief and programme, and deliver a fantastic new facility to the Trust in good time.
