When LSI took on the design responsibility for the “landlord’s shell” of this project, negotiations with tenants were well advanced. However, detailed planning consent had still to be secured and onerous noise control measures satisfied.

The architectural treatment of the piazza (a new urban space for Norwich), the scale of the buildings, and the selection of cladding materials next to a multi-storey car park, were particular challenges.

The pace of the project meant that work started on site while design development continued to in order to enable celebration of the new Millennium in the nightclub.
