A £1.9M project to provide a new Sport England standard sports centre, incorporating a four court sports hall and changing facilities to complete the curriculum requirements of Jane Austen Academy, but with the benefit of being able to be used by both Hewett Academy, and other Inspiration Trust Academy students. The new Eileen Ash Sports Hall, constructed by Kier Construction on behalf of the Education and Skills Funding Agency, provides facilities for the playing of netball, cricket, and badminton as priority sports, alongside facilities for volleyball, trampolining, and basketball.

The height and mass of the proposed sports hall has been informed by Sport England guidance. The changing and shower areas are located to the front of the site within a subordinate block that also contains the principal entrance. The building is clad in colour coated composite metal cladding panels with colour matched aluminium flashings and cappings, above fair faced facing blockwork plinth at Ground Level in a 2/3, 1/3 arrangement in an attempt to reduce the apparent monolithic mass of the sports hall.
