Britten Building Highly Commended at CIAT AT Awards

Our new sixth form and music school building for Gresham’s School, The Britten Building, has been highly commended in the Award for Excellence in Architectural Technology at the 2018 CIAT AT Awards.

The two-storey Gresham’s School Britten Building development includes classrooms, music practice rooms, a recording studio, a 140 seat auditorium that will be used as a Sixth Form lecture theatre as well as performing space, cafeteria and social spaces for pupils.

Music plays a significant role in the life of many pupils at the School, and the new development provides them with the best facilities possible for the study of music. To this end, each aspect of the rehearsal, practice and music rooms has been designed to promote clear hearing, providing an acoustic environment that allows pupils to appreciate music fully, without disturbance to the activities of playing, listening and composing.
