Norwich Playhouse

A new 325 theatre was created by converting Gun Wharf, a Grade 2 listed riverside warehouse, into the main auditorium and stage.

A new structure was carefully inserted inside the listed envelope to open up clear sight lines for the audience and projection facilities from the control room.

The listed frontage building has been opened up and a new entrance foyer formed with administrative offices above. A new bar has been sympathetically added to the side, which forms an enclosure to the landscaped external seating area, overlooking the River Wensum.

LSI Architects assisted with the Arts Lottery Funding that was granted to help fulfil this project.
