Derek Jackson AI Solutions Architect

Derek joined LSI in 2003, after graduating from UEA, and was made an Associate in 2017. Derek has been involved in all aspects of visualisation and graphics at LSI, with a wealth of experience in AI imagery, photo-realistic & conceptual visuals, virtual reality and augmented reality, animations and photography.

A member of the Society of Architectural Illustrators, he has competed in international competitions, including winning 3rd place in the Ronen Bekerman Architectural Visualisation competition, and Honourable Mention in Parametric Architecture’s ‘AI Creative Challenge 4’. He has written tutorials for 3D Artist magazine, and his images have appeared in the Exposé series of books. Derek has also produced Digital Matte Painting work for the UK feature film “Arthur & Merlin” and designed a mural for Norwich BID’s “City of Stories” project.

The software he has familiarity with includes LLMs, ArchiCAD, Twinmotion, Photoshop, and Grasshopper, supported by knowledge of AI, photography and scripting languages (GDL, PHP, CSS, JavaScript).

In 2025 Derek moved his focus onto AI and its application at LSI, including LLMs and generative AI. Derek works throughout the practice, assisting staff with AI usage, developing prompts and agents, and pushing the boundaries of how AI can assist our workflows.
